Today's Greeting
Normally I would delete photos with this much noise - but lately, I would have had to delete everything by that rule.....It's just so DARK all the time - at least when I have time to take any pictures! So here they are, noise and all.
Tis ws a fun action my daughter used to do some fun gift collages for some of her c0-campaign workers - Of course I had to try it with some of my November birds, but oh my gosh, I covered the bluebird's head! OH NO!

The bane of winter photography. I downloaded a free program (from the Major Geeks site)that helps with the noise. It softens the photos a little but still looks better than the noise.
If you want to try it:

Noise or no noise, these are still some great photos. I've had a feeder out for the past two weeks and the birds still have not found it. I think they need glasses.
I'm glad you shared these - I loved them all!
Beautiful bird collage!
At screen resolution, you really can't see the noise all that much...and they're terrific shots. So glad you decided to keep them and share!
Love all of the pictures, Helen. The Tufted with the big nut/seed in its mouth is GREAT. And of course I like the Cardinals this time of year also. Our Jays are gone (still in the area but not at our house).. AND I saw my first Downy this past week--but didn't get a picture yet.
Beautiful birds series.
Love all of them.
LOL of all the birds to cover too
but I love what you did.
smiles, Deena
Nice sharp photos with such lovely background colors.
In a way Helen, its quite a nice effect.
Fantastic collage! The titmouse is a fav. of mine! Love the food in it's mouth!
Glad you shared your "noisy" pics. They were GOOD shots! I'm pretty frustrated with the gloomy weather too!
What I do for background noise (if using PS CS2 or later is: Isolate the background with lasso or wand. Then: filter> blur> average. I used it on my kestral today.
Good luck! If your rules for images is no adjustment, well...they really are good shots even with the imperfections.
Ha Ha! Well Helen, I think we know what a bb's head looks like and I think this is a wonderful collage. Your photos are still beautiful no matter what the conditions!
Very beautiful collage!
Cheers, Klaus
Helen: What a neat show, your birds look beautiful.
Kinda funny that the bird whose head is cut off is the bird for which you are most famous! Nobody does blue birds like you do.
The photos are fabulous noise and all. I love the tufted titmouse picture!
These are wonderful! Love that titmouse on the card. If I deleted photos that good, I'd have nothing left! That collage is really fun and a neat way to show the photos.
Where's the turkey? :)
They are still good photos in spite of the noise, at least at the size displayed here. The poses are good and the colors too. I enjoyed them very much.
These are definitely some nice photos and I am, also, glad that you decided to share them, they help to fill my day with more images of nature! Thanks :)
Great photos --- I can't believe they are your out takes. And yes, the collages can be integrative, but they end up obscuring some of the details. Still, it's a great summary tool.
beautiful!
Beautiful series of images. Spectacular actually. The 2nd image is my pick of this series and the collage is just too good
What a wonderful collage Helen! I love all the birds you included. Noise, shomoise... all your shots are lovely.
Heaven sent..each and every bird!
Wonderful capture Birdlady!
I can hear the songs!!
I love them Helen and am so glad you didn't delete these. Beautiful photos! The collage is great. Happy Thanksgiving!
Especially love the first photo! I don't understand about noise????
Wonderful Assortment of Colours and Textures in Your Bird Photos. The Collage You posted was nice to gaze upon too.
I think they still look great. I like that collage. :-)
Beautiful birds, such a great spectrum of colors.
I know what you mean about the noise. I was privelaged to watch two whitetail bucks in a AWSOME fight, but it was really too dark to be taking pics. I had to try anyhow.. Now I have LOTS of noise.
Your shots are still great. LOVE the collage, what did you use to do that one? Do you mind sharing?
These are all lovely Helen . I especially love the Titmouse :-)
Birds are my favorite, their reward to us is in song and being noisy, some more than others. Nice post and thanks for the photos, people should remember if you start feeding the birds in good weather, you must continue in the winter months.
Great images, thanks for the posting.
Beautiful, noise and all, tho I don't think I understand what "noise" means is this instance...
