Who Knew?

Todays' Greeting
I've been creating these greeting cards for 4 years now, and it has been interesting to see which ones are most popular. It's definitely not always the technically perfect images that get the best reviews. People don't care all that much if it's a perfect photo... (I care - a lot , but I learned soon after opening my store in 2004 that it's not about what I like.) I almost didn't use this photo; it's pretty amateurish, but it's been a good one for me.

I can see why it's a favorite. Before I read the post I was thinking how great it was that you captured two such beautiful birds in the same shot so close to each other.

There's no accounting for what grabs one's fancy. Try to guess and you'll be wrong every time!
I love that photo, tho, and also the font you used.

I hear you it always surprised me what catches others eye and I agree it does not have to be technically perfect. The two colors here are amazing and what a treat !!

Two colorful birds together in the same photo, how can you not like that?

I agree with you Helen about photos should be as good as possible. It may be that in that scene you have two colourful birds that brighten up a a dull background.
Some people like and pay a lot of money for all this abstract painting which in affect to you and me, as perfectionists, is rubbish. Who knows and there is no accounting for tastes.

It's probably because the photo pulls you in. The background is drab and the blue & red guys pop out! It makes you happy I think...

I see why it's popular...Seeing two beautiful birds together like that is always exciting. You can't pose shots like this, they just happen!

The bright birds really catch one's eye. I can understand why so many people like this one.

Most people like more natural looking photos like this one as opposed to ones that look too staged, does that make sense?

Their colors are so bright and really stand out. This would be a favorite of mine too.
