Painting Again...

Today's Greeting
This post is not my usual, but I've been playing with the DP again. St Augustine is a great place to get the old city streets, gates, doors, etc, and the boats were at the old town waterfront. Window air conditioners and cars had to be removed before painting, so as straight photographs they might have been marred, but the DP takes care of slight photoshop editing imperfections.
A couple of months ago I did an assortment of cards with the "paintings" so maybe I should have used one of those with these pictures, but the bunny was next.

Corner of Artillery and Aviles Streets

I saw the "Nana" sign, and had to get the shot.

Lovely old garden gate.

On the waterfront..
If these aren't your "cup of tea" or you think this is cheating, as I've heard; I'll be back to birds, wildlife, flowers, kids, and puppies tomorrow. But I absolutely love doing it.

No cheating here Helen! This is your art, your vision, and your work to boot. It's all beautiful.
Thanks...oh and a very sweet greeting as well!

I think it's lovely Helen. I really like the effect, and they ARE your photos after all. Keep on painting my friend. :c)

I love them - they have an "impressionistic" quality to it!

Helen: I really love the bunny and how you presented it. My wife is known as Nana so I'm sure she also would have enjoyed that photo. What is DP?

DP stands for digital painting? Whatever it's called, I do it too sometimes and have great fun with it. Don't let anyone tell you it's cheating...it had to be created first by your eye and then by your imagination...so in my book, it's an art form! These happen to be terrific...

Thanks everyone - I don't worry at all...there are those purists though, who want everything to be exactly as it came from the camera.
Yes, DP is digital painting. I love everything about photoshop! (Well, I hate the PS browser, but I just use the NIKON View.) FG, I'm Nana too....it's a good gig.

Well, I'm glad you did the bunny...very cute! But I love the paintings, too....especially the first one and the gate. Wonderful effects.

I love the look of the picture of the building. Looks like you painted them

Whatever rocks your boat! I don't see why cheating would come up!
That's silly. It would be - if you were claiming to have painted it...
Good work!
Cheers, Klaus

I enjoyed your post. I play around with photoshop too. Some photos lend themselves to this type of art. I have three in my office that get a lot of attention.

Your bird photos are great.

That is such a wonderful effect. And you choose just the perfect photo every time it seems...

To me, art is art no matter how you create it. I don't consider it cheating. I consider it a form of artistic impression and creativity with whatever tools are at your disposal. I think they're wonderful. Everyone can't paint but if you can move a mouse... so what? :-D
