The new toy -

Today's Greeting
The new little Lumix does a pretty good job - and it is surely handy - does a nice job of quick close-ups....

Could be better, but could be worse, too.

Bright, bright sun..probably as good as the "big guns" would have managed in that light.

The boys had a swim meet tonight - this is where it really was convenient.

Jack is 9 - he's a gymnist, but enjoys swim team since his brother and friends are all on it.

Nick is 7 - he's our swimmer - was first in his division in freestyle and backstroke.

Posing with Nana - "Hurry up Pop - we gotta get going."

Princess Maddie - she's 3.

I think your card today ranks as my all time favorite - the photo and the quote. Nice to see the blue bird family and then your lovely family. You must be a proud nana!

Great card! And looks like you and your Panny are going to have a very nice relationship...that shot of the flower is fantastically composed. A little tweaking of brightness and it'd be prize worthy! Enjoyed the family pics very much...

The camera takes nice photos but it sure looks like that swallowtail has seen better days, I'm surprised it can still fly.

Wonderful card.

I love the pictures of the swimmers. Brings back memories of some very long evenings when my kids were little. Those swim meets seemed to last forever.

The camera is definitely a keeper. And it fits in your purse?

Shelley - Thanks...the bluebirds are so special1 And yes, I am truly blessed, and very proud (and stunned to see my 5' tall, 9 year old grandson so close to my height (and I had on thick wedge heels - he was barefoot! Oh, my, how did that happen?)

June - thank you. Yes, I think I will get some pix I would miss because of the sheer bulk of my bird rig. (And it's smaller, by far, than Nikon or Canon. I had to give up Nikon a year ago, simply because it was too much to get that 400 2.8 where I wanted to go! We use Olympus now, and love it - I see no loss of quality, and it's a lot smaller and lighter.)

Jayne - Nana is my best role!

Yeah, John..that b'fly was pretty raggedy. There was another butterfly that I had never seen before - sort of chartreuse and blak stripes and little fushia colored spots, but he wouldn't come out of the middle of the budlea.

Carolyn - yes, swim meets involve a lot of waiting..when my kids were swimming, at least I was timing - had my feet in the water.Yes, the camera is tiny...the Leica lens is the secret.

Barb - thanks - I wish you had a princess too. It's just another thing to experience - and this one is such a girly-girl...the boys have spoiled her terribly (wonderfully?) I have enjoyed your travelogue. Thanks.

Klaus - thank you!

Mary - it'll be fun to always have a camera with me again - I just can't carry the big rig everywhere I go any more. And yes, the GRANDchildren are very happy and healthy - we are very blessed.

Roy, thank you.

Wonderful pictures! A couple of my friends have Lumix cameras and they love them. It's nice to have a lightweight camera that can do so many things, instead of always carting lenses around.
