Technical Problems

I'm doing this on an ancient laptop, which is the only computer in the house that seems to be connecting to our wireless network...which means I have to move the pictures onto this, etc, etc. So, I might be a bit erratic with posts and comments till I can get somebody over here to fix it.
Today's Greeting

This is a view of the Shenandoah Valley from Skyline Drive, in Shenandoah National Park. It's beautiful, but today it was cold - about 40 when we got there this morning. Brrrr!

Oh, my cup runneth over! This tiny newborn fawn was resting by the path - Mama was nearby, watching closely, but I got a bazillion shots - I kept hoping it would lift its head up, but all the pix have the grass in front. I didn't want to traumatize the baby or mom, so very reluctantly I went on.

Birding was good, but I didn't get any of the photos ready to post. We saw veery, lots of redstarts and chestnut-sided warblers, blackburnian warbler, indigo buntings, and the ever-present towhees and catbirds.

It was a good day, except that my camera came loose from the tripod mount and fell on the path! I can't believe it, but it seems totally fine. Olympus touts this camera as being rugged, but this is amazing!

I'll post and comment as I am able till everything is working again.

What a sweet image of a newborn fawn! I bet you were doing flips to find such a prize! Can't wait to see your bird cache for the day! Sorry about your computer problems AND tripod accident - gee - bummer! Glad everything is working or you'll be like Bluebirder - waiting for glass;-)

That fawn is adorable! Lucky you! Look forward to more photos. Sounds like you are having a great time. Love that photo on the side bar about "jump", too....just noticed it.

Wonderful pictures! I love this place so much. The last time we drove through there, there were deer grazing along the roadsides. What a treat, and you just can't beat that landscape. Hope you can get the bugs worked out of your computer soon.

It's almost sweeter with the grass in front of his adorable face. :c) Hope you can get your computer woes fixed Helen. I know that's frustrating!

The grass in front of the fawn is natural and endearing, just the way Mama left him. I'm glad he followed her advice and kept his head down.

Great shots. You did well with the "antique."

What a find to be able to photo that fawn. Wonderful picture!

And your owl across the moon photo from yesterday truly must be one of your very finest you've ever taken. It's a beautiful shot. Bless that owl!

Have a wonderful Memorial weekend.

Hi Birdlady...Now you are a prime example of an animal lover! Knowing when and when not to disturb nature just to get a shot of that fawn. It is precious!
Hope you get help soon with your computer!
