It rained all last night and all day today - so these photos are once again in my backyard.
This is our "bird tree." We have seen so many birds of many species in its branches. I thought the goldfinch looked really sweet with the new opening leaves.
The white throated sparrow has been singing his heart out - all day every day.
The photo of the white throat was taken yesterday - look how much the dogwood blossoms opened since then. The pink really shows off the mockingbird's gray.
When I was growing up, my mother would have told me pink and red don't go well together, but everything in nature goes together perfectly. Razzle dazzle!
So far, so good...the babies are still being fed well, and are still very noisy. Funny, in the past they start their noisy begging when one of the parents landed on the nestbox - with this nest being so close to my door, they start as soon as I go out and close the door!

Just loved these! And the cardinal does look nice against the pink blossoms!
Thanks Shellmmo - We are blessed with so much beauty.
I looove your 'bird-tree'!!
Beautiful pictures of so beautiful birds :D
All your bird photos are beautiful. I'm so glad your bluebirds are still safe in the pottery nest. so far so good! I've noticed also in nature that strange colors can go together like your red and pink and look good!
I need to plant a bird tree, great shots.
These are beautiful. I just love all the wonderful colors that announce that spring is here. That's a fantastic bird tree.
Mel - Thank you! Good luck with the new job.
Jalynn - Keep your fingers crossed re the bluebirds...that's a might precarious place.
John - I wish I could tell you what that bird tree is..the bark looks like some sort of cherry, but nothing else does. We always mean to take a branch to the garden center and ask, but forget every time. It'll soon be blooming - there will be pix then, and the dogwood will be so full that it will be hard to see the birds in it.
Thanks Lin! Razzle dazzle.
How you guys continuously get such good shots of these little ones is beyond me. I guess you're much more patient then I am! ;) Wonderful!
Cheers, Klaus
Good Morning Helen! We have been experiencing the same rain pattern. Hopefully today it will be done. The shot of the Cardinal and beautiful pink dogwood is incredible. Two of my favorite colors together! They are all just wonderful shots, as always!!
Wow Klaus! Coming from someone who just posted heron nestlings with every wisp of down crystal clear, that makes my day!
aunt b - i guess we "crossed" on the web - thank you, as always, for visiting and your support.
Good morning Helen! Much better photos. LOL the poor bluebird looks like he is saying" Do I HAVE to go in there" I think all of us parents have felt like that at least once. LOL beautiful bird tree..

A lovely blog page Helen!! I love your pond and the beautiful waterlilies.
So glad to see that the babies are safe and sound. There's a nest in a nearby park here and the babies were screaming for their parents...so cute. Love the colors in your backyard.
