Another rainy day, and I had to work to boot, so all I have to post is more of the same - watching the dogwood blossoms change and my "resident birds."
The blossoms get paler as they open - By the time the flowers are mature, they will be huge, flat and very pale. It's a wonder!
I love this little guy. I keep thinking I'll wake up and he'll be gone. I have never had them nest here, but there is still one female around, and this one sings all the time. He has a defect on his bill on the right side. I can't tell if it has been broken, or if it's just that way; but I wonder if that's maybe why he's hanging around. He seems to do all right with it.
So bright-eyed and happy.
I did venture out during a break in the rain to try to get this shot of the raindrops on the lilac.
I set up a feeding station in the middle of the pond area, and he's trying to see if he can jump across from the tree!
About to enjoy a treat from "Mr Bird."

Oh - you can post "more of the same" anytime! It's enjoyable! Cheers, Klaus
Thank you! Have a great day, Klaus.
That dogwood is spectacular!
We've now lost all but 1 of our yard dogwoods. There's been a terrible disease here in the Northeast that's wiped out much of the dogwoods.
Oh, I hope we don't get it here! Virginia is unbelievable in the spring, and dogwoods are one reason.
Thanks Barb - That tree is such a gift. It is beautiful year-round. Re: white throat - thanks.
BTW, bluebirds are still OK - I usually know exactly when to expect fledging, but not this time.
Lovely as always :-)
There you are! I was beginning to think your flu had gotten the best of you. Glad to hear from you....and thanks. I'm off to your blog to see if there's something wonderful and new there.
Ahhhh! Your flowers are so vibrant and colorful Love them. Not so here yet! the sparrow looks like he is posing for you, over the shoulder pose! That squirrel will make it, they are sprinters, jumpers and runners all rolled up in one short-legged rodent.. haha. Nice series!
Jalynn - Hi and thanks - you are always so kind.
IRB - Welcome - thank you and please do come back.

The Dogwood blossoms are just brilliant.
Shellmo, aunt b, Mike - Thank you all. We finally got to go out today. I'm working on a new post (had pretty good luck.)
