I'm sure you'll miss the wildlife you attracted to the pond, but look at the bright side; there are plenty of natural bodies of water that attract wildlife.
First of all I love the picture. I love ponds too! But as I get older I realize some things have to change for various reasons, and with change something else even more wonderful comes into our lives. Keep looking and I know you will see that 'something wonderful'.
As a matter of fact, I did! Well not while he had the fish in his mouth, but sitting on a branch casing out the pond. I had up a "no fishing" sign, too. The pond was lovely, and I was really lucky to be able to enjoy it for 5 summers. Thanks.
What an amazing story about the bluebirds--they are so sweet. Maybe some day we'll move so we can feed the birds in the backyard again, but for now I am enjoying seeing yours and your adventures with them.
Thank you - I'm so happy to share my lovely little friends - and so appreciative to all of you who look at them. My wild bird store is actually what I call my "retirement adventure." I had a new customer in a couple of weeks ago and he asked about bluebirds. Well, that sets me off every time, and after I finished praising the wonders of birds in general and bluebirds in particular, he said with a twinkle, "Helen, I think you need to find something to do that you are passionate about. lol I am so grateful to my husband who has so graciously supported this venture, and to my wonderful customers, who have become my friends.

Right you are - and close to me too - but that was so convenient.

Thanks Jalynn - very true.
Your pond looked like it was beautiful.
Yeah, Mike - I loved it! I'll dig out some better photos soon and post them.
Lovely shots. You can tell that Bluebird wants to nest there :-)
Hi Nick. I guess he did! There are some very vocal chicks in there - wish I could see them. Hope you're all better.
