For the first 4 years, we had lots of green frogs - they were funny, and very noisy.
It was so relaxing to sit and watch the fish. The heron discovered them and had a fine meal.
This was in 2003. My grandsons, Jack and Nick, loved the pond. They haven't been over in the last week, and I haven't had the nerve to tell them it's gone. Guess I'll be playing lots of ball!
This photo has run for 3 years as the ad for the landscaping company who built the pond.
This frog was my little shadow - He stayed so close to me, that I almost stepped on him from time to time.
The lotus were always so gorgeous. We'll plant a couple of small ones in pots - can't give up everything.

These were lovely photos of your pond, it's too bad you had to fill it in. Here in Maine it's illegal to keep koi or goldfish in an outside pond
Interesting - why?
Beautiful, I love the flower opening series. I bet you are glad to have the photo memories of the boys playing by the pond.. thanks for sharing
Thanks Stacey - The boys are 9 and 7 now, and every one of the 1000s of photos is precious, as you well know.
Sorry to see such a beauty gone! But the images are precious!
Cheers, Klaus
Klaus, thank you -
I just loved every photo of your pond. The lilies were gorgeous, the frog so cute, your grandsons so handsome!! What great memories! It just conveyed an atompshere of peaceful tranquility. But I understand when something becomes more work than you can muster it's time to let go...Something else as great will come along.
Jalynn, thank you so much. It was a joy.
Absolutely stunning! I would miss it so much! Your pictures are precious and a treasure.
Thanks Lin - I've got plans for it as my "bird studio." It's right off my patio, so I'll be close. We'll see....
It's all good - ponds, pools, no pond, new liner, GRANDCHILDREN! Life is GOOD. (But yeah, it's a little tough sometimes.)
That was one beautiful pond. The water lilies were spectacular.
Thank you Mike. The lilies made for some wonderful photo-ops.
Wow, that was like heaven on earth, almost like a garden of eden. I'm sure your bird sanctuary will be beautfil.
I hope we can create something special again.
My husband is extremely jealous of your pond! He is now ready to start reconstucting ours in the backyard. Beautiful photos!
