All Things Great and Small

"With all creatures I am in deep soul harmony. We are related - I feel it within my heart. And for that reason I love them. " Wilhelm Busch

What you will see on my blog will be mostly birds; but any living thing that pauses long enough when I am out with my camera becomes a model.

This photo is pretty marginal- but I wasn't about to get any closer!

I have a beautiful pond in my backyard, but I'm having it filled in - it's more than I can handle, and the local heron ate all these fish.

I have a hard time loving snakes...but this one was smiling at me, so I was down on my belly in the grass, nose to nose with a s----!

Turtle Dance!

Reminds me of the gingerbread man!

The wildest of them all!

All such beautiful shots, Birdlady!
But, aside from the 'pooch' my favorite is the skunk. Love the bl/wh contrast! They are all just incredible shots. What a very nice reminder, thanks!

Well, thanks, Speedy! I won't have many chances to shoot a skunk, but I really didn't want to push my luck, so I stayed way far away!

Great shots, each and everyone, see you have lots of wildlife in your world too...:) I am a bit conserned for about the gator (croc?) though.. Again Great shots..

Stacey - Alligator was in the Everglades in Feb. The vultures were not the least bit afraid - they acted for all the world as though they were teasing them. Thanks for looking.

Hi Birdlady,
I love all your photographs! The bunny in the clover just looks like a greeting card to me and the raccoon playing peek a-boo in the tree. You got a funny shot of that turtle doing a little twister dance too. Nice series. Loved it!

Shelley - thank you..i think that might have been those babies' first time out. They were pretty brave.

jalynn - actually both the bunny and the raccoon are on my greeting cards.

Great bunch of shots, I especially liked the shot of the chipmunks, it would make a great print. Too bad you have to fill in your pond but I guess it would be a lot of work to maintain if you don't have the time. I was in the everglades a few years ago when a commorant caught a gar and an alligator tried going after it. I thought the gator was going after the fish but a ranger there said it was actually going after the bird. It hoped to catch it while it was discracted tring to swallow the fish.
