Signs of Spring

The robins are traditionally known to be a harbinger of spring, but we actually had a lot more than usual wintering here this year. But sitting amoung the "about to burst buds" it still looks like just maybe spring is on the way.

Any day now - They aren't here yet, at least in any numbers, but they always seem to make it to Washington in time for tax day. I can hardly wait! My feeders are out and ready.

Great capture of the humming bird. Just beautiful! The robins were here all winter too.. still haven't decided what they were eating except for frozen bugs.. Thanks for sharing

Absolutely stunning pictures! We usually have a robin or two that winter over here, but when spring comes, they really move in. I love their sounds. Your hummingbird is wonderful. I don't see very many here, so when one straggles in, it's quite a treat.

The robins are singing away! That gives me hope, but it's 40 and rainy, dark and gloomy. So thank goodness for singing birds! Thanks Lin.

Lovely robin shot, I've seen a few around here the past couple of weeks. They say the early bird gets the worm, well there are no worms for them to get yet.

Nothing like a great robin image--our most familiar harbinger of the season! - and that hummingbird picture is just stunning!

John - Thanks; for some reason robins are hard for me - they end up looking too stark..this one was a little softer without being OOF!
No worms here either, except in the mealworm feeder! (Which the robins have been known to pilfer.)

Barb- Thanks!

Seeing your hummingbird makes me homesick for our to return. When my apple tree blossoms I will have that honor.(May 9th last year) they are great little birds to watch!
