OK, it's NOT July 2 - I thought I could set up a few old posts with greetings for the next few days, but looks like maybe not! So - here's an old post, and the new "today's greeting" is at the end, properly labeled July 1! (???)
From August 27, 2007..........
We were sitting out on our balcony having our coffee at SNP very early this morning - the view was magnificent, with the moon still shining, and the mountains misty. Very quietly and daintily, two fawns walked out into the clearing in front of us.
They ran together and separately, kicking their heels in apparent joy at just being alive on a beautiful morning in the mountains.

That's cute!! They are so amusing casing each other like children.
What a wonderful experience! You captured the perfect day in the life of the fawns and their family!
That is beautiful - especially love #3. It's always good not to miss a post of yours! Cheers, Klaus
Last year I saw young fawns frolicking in our field. It was a sight to behold...didn't get any good pictures of it like you did though!
These are so much fun!! It's wonderful that they didn't mind you being there. Your yard is a wildlife wonderland! I love these pictures.
How lucky that you were able to witness this wonderful "deer" playtime.
Those are great. Much better that the ones I posted last week.
Deer are a favorite of mine to try to photograph and fawns are even more fun and hard to get. How thrilled you must have been to get this lively little family. Loved every picture! Thanks so much for sharing them with us!
What a fun and carefree day they are having. Gives us a lesson to take a break and play every now and then.
Lovely family. Being there was probably as great as getting the photos.
Amazing photos, these could put anyone in a good mood.
Helen: Those are outstanding photos and I really enjoyed the little fawn romping in the grass.
Beautiful, beautiful fawn! Love the tail! What a wonderful deer family.
VERY cool. I have only seen deer do that one time, and it was really entertaining!
(BTW, I think your mystery tree may be a mulberry???)
