Very sad, Helen... I hate to read that --but I'm not surprised.. It's not just the birds. It's all kinds of wildlife. Everytime a new home is built in our area, there goes the deer's living area and there goes all of those gorgeous trees. Thanks for sharing. I was especially interested in reading what is happening to the birds in Hiwaii... Talk aabout humans taking over everything!!!!Hugs,Betsy
:c( So very sad...
That's just about the same the World over Helen, unfortunately.
My heart is heavy...the only glimmer found from this is that at least we now have people in office who believe in science and believe that global warming is real. Perhaps there will be a turn...
Just think how bad it's going to be when the country is coverd up in huge windmills and solar panels! Hopefully the free market will come up with a better way.
Sometimes I get very discouraged. Marnie
Sad as the report may be, I am optimistic that the current adminstration will reverse a lot of policies that contributed to the problem. For the first time in quite a while, the department heads do seem interested in the ecology.Just this week, the EPA put a hold on all the mountaintop coal removal permits. I'm hoping for more good things that will help turn the frightening trends around.
