Last Friday, we decided to drive out to SNP to see if anything was out and about (and also because I was having SNP withdrawal)......The sheep in the pasture by the highway were grazing, and didn't pay any attention to me when I clattered out of the car, across the highway and close enough to get a shot.....
Neither did these deer, as you see....and they were the only living things we saw in the park.
The Coopers have discovered that a lot of doves hang out under my feeders - look in his talons!
Actually, he didn't pay a lot of attention to me either; he was too busy eating.
Eating snow!
And, of course, my dearest and favorites...
I've been grabbing quick peeks at your blogs, but haven't taken time to comment. Hopefully I'll get back in my groove soon and can keep in better touch.

Glad to see your beautiful blue birds have cover! And how cute are those deer tushies?!
Delightful pictures! The sheep look like it's time for 'shearing' and I love the back end of the deer. Their tales look as if they are wearing fluffy white scarves! The squirrel so sweet, and the bluebirds under the hood just darling.
Hi Helen, I wondered where you had been. I thought maybe you were out-of-town. I was so glad to see a comment on my blog tonight..
Those sheep at Shenandoah looked very healthy ... The deer look so different from ours. I would love to spend some time at the SNP sometime. It is so beautiful. When we went on a tour bus to DC one spring, we came close to SNP... All I can say is WOW!!!!
Love that bird feeder with the umbrella top... I may need to find one of them sometime.
Have a wonderful day tomorrow.
Hugs,
Betsy
Wonderful shots as usual! Love the sheep. I don't get to see those often.
You got some wonderful pictures on your drive and around your feeders. Thanks for sharing them.
Beautiful series. The 2nd image is a cool creative composition.
The cooper is awesome as well
Hi.
A very nice message with a lot of diversity. I love the squirrel and the blue bird, but the squirrel is my favorite... A nice nice background and a beautiful attitute!!!
I love the deer photo, it's not the usual perspective.
Oh, oh, oh.... just LOOK at your bluebirds! (Jayne just peed her pants!) :c)
Nice to see you and your critter friends again! Great takes as usual...
We do suffer from certain'nature'withdrawls at times.I know the feeling. At least you hadsome living creatures to shoot.
Blessings,Ruth
What's SNP? The squirrels have been really active the past few days - they're a riot!
I like the deer shot with all the taiils down :-) Sheep...not something I see a lot of! They look so warm. That Coopers looks hungry! Cute squirrel!
Ah Sheep Helen, guess you would photograph them.
Great series. The Cooper's shot is awesome. Blue Skies.
I like the powerful looking Hawk, a Cooper is he, he is very interested in any small birds round your area.
Those pretty little ones had better take care.
Just love squirrels.
A good collection of photographs. I'm sorry you didn't get to see more at SNP, but any trip there is a good one, as one gets to see the beautiful mountain scenery.
I know exactly how you feel: there is never enough time in the day, and something has to give ...
Wonderful photos Helen. I'm getting a bit of that SNP withdrawal too. Haven't been up there in a while.
Love the little deer ends..and always ready to see those blues..but your picture of that cooper is wonderful..
and yes those talons are something to be eyed!!
Helen: Those are very neat captures from nature. I liked the deer herd saying goodbye to you.
A very unusual photo of the back ends of the deer - you msut have been on your knees, or standing a lot lower than the deer to catch that angle! glad I found you!
