Dreams of Florida

Last year we enjoyed seeing this juvenile cormorant in the Everglades...He was making such a racket....Amazing looking creature. In a little over a month I head back down to Florida; and despite Klaus's photo today of frost on his windshield, I'm expecting warm weather!

I just saw a baby anhinga the other day getting fed by its mother and a great blue heron nest too. Unfortunately photographs didn't come out...faced right into the sun. I may go back there next week and try again. I seem to recall you only come down as far south as north Florida. Their weather can be so different than ours...if you came down to us here in S. Florida, I'd guarantee your warm weather. :-)

Boy, I wish I was in Florida this morning. I'd be happy with a frosty windshield compared to the temp. outside right now.

I've always thought they are such funny looking birds and this young one is just as funny! So fuzzy looking! Enjoy Florida! I head to Tucson in a few weeks.

Helen,
You have posted a lot of super bird photographs lately. This photo is especially beautiful.

I think everyone is in the same frame of mind now and likes to see shots of a little more pleasant time of year. Believe it or not, though, when it is hot and humid in the summer, I often look at winter pictures, but I never long for the bitter cold like we have now.
