Things that make me happy...

Today's Greeting

I think maybe I've never seen such a pink sky...I had the big glass on the camera and was too lazy to go change it, but you get the idea....... Strawberry Sky.

He just loves the peanuts. I can go pretty close and he pays me very little attention.

Actually, I shouldn't have included this one today - this makes me sad - there's something wrong with this little one. It has something wrong with its eye, as well as some kind of growth on its bill...but it seems to be surviving - I saw it earlier in the summer, and it looked just like this then.

Show-off!

Little straggler. She eats all the time, but isn't as fat as some of them. I only have 2 left...the men and boys left already.

I have had 6 - 10 bluebirds on my porch every morning for over a week. Now that really makes me happy!

Gathered round...

Ollie made them all move, so he could take a bath.

Rub-a-dub, dub; a bird in a tub...

A last good shake...

This is for you, Bird Girl! lol

You sure have plenty there to make anyone happy! Nothing like a bit of privacy for a bath though.

These are all great Helen, but I agree that is a sad little bird. I can't wait to see Bird Girl's reaction to her greeting!!! It's a hoot! or should that be squawk!!

I like the Bluebirds Helen. It looks like they are having Breakfast meeting. The matter under discussion being "What shall we do today".

Love the frog! Looks like you still have a lot of visitors...we're down to almost nothing. No hummers for a while and now, even the goldfinches are gone...though yesterday we did spy a family of bluebirds checking out one of our boxes...perhaps staking a claim for next spring??

Helen: What a neat set of photos and the number one in my view is the hummer. Those wings outstretched are amazing. you really have outdone yourself.

Wonderful! I love the frog card...so funny! Great bird shots! I was trying to find nuts like those for my birds....got some in the shell, which is more work for them. I get sad about the ones that seem to have problems, too. I had so many of the House Finches with the eye problems, and my bald cardinal, and a few little ones that just don't seem really healthy. The little house sparrow I have right now, just sits there and looks sad most of the time, yet it seems fat and healthy.

What great photos. The little downeys are darlings. Much less fearful than their larger cousins;)

Loved your series of pictures today. I was just reading on another blog about beak deformities among Black-capped Chickadees in Alaska, your little fella reminded me. It's always sad to see birds suffering some malady. The posture of the 'bird'for BG looks like a bunch of cormorants I saw in NJ drying their wings. No pictures, hubby wouldn't pull over!

Your blog makes me "happy" just to view all the beauty you capture. How lucky to see all of these beautiful birds and I love the captions also. Don't you just love watching birds take a bath?

This was great. I was tagged but haven't had the time to try to work on this. Those last few shots are so perfect they don't even look real.

A lot of great pics. I like the detail and texture of the frog and the action that you captured with the bluebird in the birdbath.
