I usually try to get the hummers much closer ("Don't shoot until you see the whites of their eyes." Haven't I heard that somewhere?), with the little feathers sparkling, but this one looked so beautiful to me, darting around in the cleome, that I went ahead and clicked, and I sort of like it. Great week-end to you all.

I think next year I'm going to get me a blind to see if I can get closer...
Helen,
That's an amazing photograph, you did great job catching that.
Beautiful Helen! Have a wonderful weekend too. :c)
Both pictures were amazing & sweet!
I'm glad you took the shot. It is perfect. Good weekend to you as well.
Helen: Through our difference we are able to share others life experiences. What a great card and a that is a neat shot of the hummer.
What a nice photo, I have a question, have you ever seen a giant humming bird? I did for the first time last week, what a treat, it did not come close enough for me to see its colors, it sure was big.
Such a beautiful picture and quote. When I read the line under the picture my eyes misted. It was just what I was thinking after visiting the links you gave me because in a way they really say the same thing.
Thank yo so much for the links and your daughter is an absolutely amazing photographer! The pictures of the children are priceless! :-)
Great pics. I have only seen a few hummers up here in Minnesota this year. Definetly less then we normally see.
Great photo of the hummer and like Fishing Guy I like your quote on the card.
Question for you: when will the hummers start to disappear from Gainesville/Haymarket this fall?
I agree that is perfect! I think sometimes we get so close that we miss the over-all beautfy of the bird and the flower or whatever else is there.
What pretty images. That hummingbird image is beautiful.
