This was a restful day -

John got home last night..I didn't have to work today, and we just stayed here all day - didn't crank the car once! Walked Emily, but otherwise, we just hung out - John played with a new little Lumix (with an amazing Leica lens) point and shoot he got to keep in his pocket (Of course, I whined that it would be perfect in my purse, so he ordered one for me), and I worked on some new cards, using some of our digital paintings. The heron in Today's Greeting was sitting in that tree (the "bird tree," by the way) watching my koi...which he did indeed eat!
Today's Greeting

This is the catbird juvenile - I think only one survived.

Mama Red-belly loves the pecan/seed cake from Mr. Bird.

So does Mama Downey.

And this is one of the new cards - This is probably, next to Ollie's portrait, my all time favorite bluebird photo that I've taken ...I was ambivalent about messing with it, but I actually like it better this way (and the untouched original is safely stored away.)

One lovely photo card after another! And your heron looks like he's doing yoga!

Great images as usual Helen. Look forward to some test images from the Lumix.

Glad your rested Helen, I hope everything sorts out. The new artwork is beautiful.
Tell that pesky heron to leave the koi alone!

Helen: That heron photo was seriously worth a koi. It has such great detail.

Wonderful! The Heron looks regal! Like your bird "bait". It looks natural. excellent shots, Helen!

Isn't is wonderful to have a true day of rest? The heron on the card is perfect! Love the new Bluebird card, also. I'm glad at least one catbird survived....I've been hearing one meow from the neighbor's tree and it is so cat-like sounding that I actually was looking for a lost kitten! I'd say that seed cake is a definite hit with the woodpeckers!

I think that heron definitely has a scheming look on his face.

What a wonderful post this is. The heron shot is beautiful, as are your other pictures. Nice that you were able to have a day off and relax.

Lovely shots all! The heron and bluebirds especially so...

BTW, I used to have a Lumix - they are exceptional cameras...they don't get the publicity of Canons and Nikons, but they're just as good, if not better IMHO
