We went out to SNP Wednesday/Thursday. We saw - and especially heard a lot of birds, but everything was so lush and leafy, it was difficult to focus. So we came away with not too many good bird images. It was , however a good bunny day.
Baby bunny - look at its little ears.
At least this one sat out in the open for a moment.
We are never sorry we went (to Shenandoah Park) - A bad day there is a good day anywhere else.

Always things to see, regardless of what we expect. :c) Love the little bunny.
I really like today's greeting. Glad it was a good day at the park.
Wow - that really seem to be a place to go!
Great images!
And you don't see a bear everyday either!
Cheers, Klaus
I love the bunnies! Very cute :-) Seeing a bear and a hawk....wow! I would have considered it my best day all year with that sort of bounty! Great photos!
Jayne: Always!
Carolyn: Thanks.
Klaus: It is the BEST place. I wish I could have gotten some decent photos of the bear...maybe next time.
Mary: It is the most beautiful place...
Well, well, well. Here is a bloger in my neck of the woods. And I have been to your shop in Gainesville. I came across you in Abe Lincoln's comment section. Isn't that where everybody meets.
J&J: Small world - stop in Backyard Boutique again and say hi -
Not a bad day at all..I had to laugh about the bear, it took a bit for the pics to load, so I read ahead and I was expecting a squirrel.. that is NOT a squirrel.. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing. I love wildlife; particularly the bears, birds, and bunnies.
Helen: Outstanding post, I've never seen a bear in the wild.
Your bluebirds are just perfect photo subjects - I love the green background you have them on!
Helen,
I did some research on SNP on the net. It looks an amazingly beautiful area which you could spend your life in taking photographs.
Thanks for posting such a wonderful group of photographs from your visit to SNP.
It is one of my favorite place. Before gasoline prices increased, I used to drive there one morning a week in the summer. I am 150 miles from big meadows and that seems like a long ways for 3-4 hours of photography, but I could get opportunities there that one could not get in a lifetime of summer mornings at home! (I didn't stay all day as there wasn't much action in mid-day and too many people in the evening)
I do stay for several days during the whitetail rut in the fall and have gotten some outstanding whitetail video and stills there.
In spite of gasoline prices, I'll probably make a few trips once the buck's racks are mature. I have had excellent success at finding the large bucks in the meadow at the crack of dawn. August is my favorite month as the racks are mature and late in the month or early September, one may get to photograph them rubbing the velvet from the antlers.
At any rate, thanks for sharing and for making me think about one of my favorite spots!
What fun, who doesnt love a bunny...well, unless they are in your garden...but other than that...who doesnt love a bunny!! The bear...no thanks...I would be scared but that's because I've never seen one in the wild. Great pics and glad you had fun Helen!
Lovely, just lovely! Hope you weren't too close to that bear!
Fantastic images of the bunny! Very impressive site, I'll definately come back often!
