New Idea

I have note cards made from many of my photographs and sell them in Backyard Boutique. I thought maybe it would be fun to send you all a card every morning. So here's the first and the best seller...This is Ollie, and he's our trademark bird.

We walked over to one of the golf course ponds last night , and the red-wings were having a concert.

Noisy and flashy.

I can't remember having a bluejay quite so in-my-face as this one yesterday morning. I was glad for my zoom, or I would have been shooting a bird's eye!

OK, little one - this is the way it's done.

Gorgeous. The good idea with the greeting card (Thank you for that!) as well as the RW Blackbirds, the Bluejay and all the rest!
Cheers, Klaus

I can see why that card is a best seller, it's a very nice photo.

What a great idea, Birdlady! Ollie is worthy of a greeting card sitting in the dogwood like that looking handsome! Your red-winged blackbirds - WOW - and 'the lesson' is a moment rarely captured. Wonderful!

I can see why it is your best seller! thanks for the card! Beautiful photos to go along with it as well. I am working on some redwing blackbird shots. last time I was near them(and the baby ducks(yeah)) the light was just too harsh for good pictures.. have a beautiful day!

Wow. Absolutely amazing. I am still mourning the fact that our bluebird house remains empty this spring. Any other ideas beside mealworms?

I had a little time this morning before taking off for the day, so I'm visiting a couple of blogs, as time allows. I love all of your pictures. I looked at your previous posts and was sorry to hear about the squirrel. I had one fall from the second story last week. I think it was the mama squirrel. She bounced off the ground level deck and onto the ground, but she is okay. Thanks for the great pictures! See you soon!

Thanks for sending 'Ollie' my way. How sweet - and I love the verse at the bottom! RW Blackbirds are a favorite of mine, so showy and loud, and the bluebirds are so cute as always!

momama - where do you live? do you see bluebirds arond? if you'll send me a picture of your box in its surroundings, I'll see if I have any words of wisdom (that's an oxymoron, coming from me!)..I WISH you could get some bb tenants.

The greeting card is just a great idea! And how do you always manage to be in the right place at the right time w/ your photos! I need to acquire this skill. I love watching the babies being fed!
