Mothers Day Gifts

Today's Greeting

Baby Album

Before and in between family Mothers Day activities and downpours, we managed to get in a few shots...AND we saw a Baltimore oriole in our "bird tree!" Oh happy day! (Would have been a tiny bit better if either of us had gotten a photo!) We have 5 bluebird fledglings (15 days post) and 5 eggs in the nest!

The Carolina wren has babies under the porch... Something to crow about!

The blue jays don't usually nest in my yard, but I think this one is. He's here pretty much all the time, and it's driving the cardinal pair nuts.

See, her feathers are ruffled.

This handsome guy has a bunch of new fledglings - really cuties, with their little "horns."

OK, Mr Oriole, if you want this, you'd better come and get it!

Gotta love peanuts!

The eastern wood pee-wee sat uncharacteristically still for his photo-op.

And Scamper wonders how he can get around that baffle!

Another shot of my clematis.

I couldn't be with my mother today, but she was very close in my heart.

I hope each of you had as wonderful a day as I did, full of family and love and beauty.

I love the composition of that clematis photo. I'm sure you have a print of that hanging on your wall, it would look good in anyones office.

Great shots! Love the wren and I bet that Scampers figures out the baffle one way or another. I always bet on the squirrel :-) All wonderful pictures.

Great Mother's Day post. Love the Baby Album photo of the Blue Birds. Happy to report that both the Hummingbirds and Orioles are visiting our feeders, and a pair of Blue Birds have successfully nested in one of our birds houses. Strange at it may seem, Mother's Day is the traditional arrival date for the Hummingbirds. In the twenty-one years I lived in this home Mother’s Day has been their return date, and yesterday at round 10:00 am they did not disappoint, hovering as they usually do in front of the kitchen window.

Your picture with the woodpecker on the birdfeeder - I just got one of those yesterday! Must say, I was NOT a fan of the smell of the coated peanuts!

Hope your Sunday was a peaceful day full of good things!

Great collection - it's impossible to have a favourite but if pushed it would be either the Wren for the stunning composition or the Pee-wee 'cos they're such a birder's bird! Well done.
