Me, me, me!!!

Nice weather now - a lot of wind though - Lots of activity in the backyard. Mama bluebird is building again....Dad has his hands full feeding these five. They have moved in very close to the house, and should be coming to the rail in a day or two - precocious little beauties.
This morning, we saw 2 male and a female rose-breasted grosbeaks out back...I hope they come back for a photo session.
Already this morning we've had the bluebirds, cardinals, catbirds, mockingbirds, titmice, chickadees, chipping sparrows, goldfinches, house finches, carolina wrens, white breasted nuthatches, red-bellied WP, grackels, mourning doves, red-winged blackbirds, house sparrows & starlings (alas), a yellow-rumped warbler and the grosbeaks - hope the day brings more. I have to go to work at noon, but the light gets to be a problem by then anyway.
We'll be going somewhere during this week to see what we can find.

Terrific pictures! Baby birds are so concentrated on themselves and survival! Makes a nice early Mother's Day picture :-)

Thanks Barb - They are about to come to the porch - they sit in the very front of the bird tree and look, and one flew down and towards it, but he thought better of it and went back. So much fun.

I was so happy to see the baby bluebird being fed - what a great scene to witness and you captured it beautifully! Do you think that baby bird could have opened his mouth any wider? :-)

What wonderful pictures. I can "hear" that baby squawking to be fed! :)

Oh I am so envious...have had a bluebird house for two years. Mealworms nearby, and anything else a bluebird could want. Nothing. I will live vicariously through these beautiful shots!

Thank you Lin and mpmama - The babies are wonderful; I am truly fortunate to enjoy them brood after brood, year after year. I would send you some if I could.
