The dismal, cold days and rain just continue, but spring is persistent, and evidence is everywhere. The cherry trees are showing more color every day, and the raindrops on them look like diamonds.
And Ollie doing his parakeet act!

Oh wow! These pictures are fantastic. The delicate, soft pastel blossoms with raindrops couldn't be more beautiful. I can see right into that cardinal's mouth! Amazing! Nice to see the finches getting their bright colors now... and that wonderful picture of Ollie! What a terrific post this is.
Thanks so much! Every day there are so many miracles to see and record. I'm glad you enjoyed the pix.
Beautiful flowers. Even in the rain, or maybe because of the rain. It will still be a while here, though I see my Aspen tree is starting to get its fluffs..My youngest son tries and tries to get the birds to eat out of his hand. Not much luck, he is usually too much of a ball of excitement for them to settle down..
Tell him just to keep on trying- this bird and his mate have been my tenants for the last 6 years, so he's pretty used to me.
He has been taking mealworms from my hand for a couple of years, but not sitting on it - and it's quick - I had John be ready with the camera this time and tempted Ollie - he took the bait (pun intended) and we got the pic - no time for more!
BTW, thanks again for your help with my blog template.
Lovely blossoms! One sees chickadees eat out of hands, but not bluebirds!! That's amazing! Is he the one you kept alive that you showed on a post a while back?
Hi Bruce - No, this bluebird has been nesting in my backyard for the last 6 years. He has taken mealworms from my hand before, but nobody has been ready with a camera; and this is the first time he has actually sat on my hand. It looks as though he's there for a while, but it was a nanosecond. The little rescue was released, and his whereabouts is unknown.
Love the bird eating out of youre hand ... you mut really enjoy that
Absolutely lovely shots, Birdlady!!
I love when the animals yawn, even the deer do that and it's so cute. Beautiful little Ollie is certainly smitten with you, WOW!!
Thanks for visiting my blog. I loved your cherry blossom shots, even though it'll be a while before we see anything like that here in Maine, those photos give me hope.
Thanks everyone..Ollie and I go way back - unfortunately I don't have a bird in my hand every time I go out, and even that moment was very brief - thank goodness my husband was there, camera in hand, waiting and hoping. The cherry blossoms are a gift every spring.
