Cedar Waxwings

These images are very nearly the same, but since this gorgeous fellow was so cooperative and turned his head both ways, and let me creep closer and closer, I thought he should have more than one photo posted. There were several - not a big flock as usual - but this one stayed off to himself and posed. The redbud made a beautiful prop, but the closer I got of course, the less of the buds showed. I hate the branch shadows, but it was 10:00 AM, and he was out in the bright sun.

thank you aunt b - every step closer i took i expected him to spook and fly away, but he was very tolerant.

Things are "bustin out all over" but it's still cold. I can't believe all the snow still in your posts and aunt b's!

Oh…I just love Cedar Waxwings and what a delight it must’ve been to capture them in such a beautiful setting!!!

JJ: They were absolutely stunning - they never stay long, but we see them a couple of times every spring and again in the fall.
