That last photo of grandson is priceless! Just love it.

My squirrels - and I do wish someone else would make my squirrels THEIRS - have completely destroyed two goldfinch so far. I can't even find any of the first one except the handle. Think I'm going to get one like yours in the 1st and 2nd photo. The buggers shouldn't be able to eat through metal!
Much as I like to love all God's creatures, I'm feeling a touch of animosity creeping in toward them...Grrr.

Yes Siskins! I've seen them arrive here in flocks and then next day gone! They are cute little birds, but yes! Aggressive at feeders. Your grandson is just adorable! They grow up so fast there's hardly time to enjoy. Love the last candid picture with his chin in hand...

The bluebird melted my heart...I miss seeing my bluebirds (I don't feed in the winter because they rarely show up).

Many may think that there is little opportunity to bird watch in NYC. But a few years ago we claimed a great celebrity by the name of Pale Male, a Red Tailed Hawk who made his home atop an elegant building on 5th Ave. Not an exaggeration to say that the city was at his feet!

Oh Helen, I remember crying when my kids/grands were acolytes. That is SO special!!!! One of my angels in my angle collection is a little choir girl --but she has a sling shot in her back pocket. Think that may describe me???? Don't ask George. ha ha

Our Pine Siskins take over also--due to the numbers. BUT--they don't seem to scare away our others including the Goldfinch.

What is the spotted one???? Beautiful bird. I haven't seen it!!!

I seldom see an siskins here altho my Dad used to have hundreds from time to time. Haven't seen many of our northern friends except juncos.
